Establishing new partnerships for barrier-free service in pharmacies
We discussed the quality of services provided in pharmacies in the city and region, particularly for people with disabilities.
Unfortunately, the accessibility of pharmacies remains a problem: often, the lifting mechanisms that have been installed do not work, or the staff do not know how to use them or are unwilling to do so. This also applies to non-standard ramps that are impossible to use and lifts that are only suitable for lifting cargo and are in no way suitable for use by people in wheelchairs. This limits access to essential medicines for a large category of people.
We have agreed to cooperate with the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control to work together to improve the situation and make pharmacy services truly accessible to all.
We will take the first steps next week, namely by meeting with pharmacy owners and managers to discuss the importance of providing truly accessible services.
